Finally a brief respite after a jam-packed week. Sitting in the cafeteria in school just now made me realise just how long it has been since I last sat down and just stare into blank space.
- Adv. Management Accounting Presentation - Nailed it once again. And possibly set the benchmark once more.
- UBS Investment Banking Challenge Presentation - Certainly a few notches higher in terms of requirements and preparations. But amidst piling school work and looming assignment due date, I could only afford minimum commitment towards the project. In any case, I agreed to join solely for the experience anyway. The team was never strong enough to be in contention to head into the Campus Round Final, or so I felt. As for the presentation itself, I found myself presenting in a very different style which required far more agression and conviction in the delivery. Once again, I can be happy with my contribution in the presentation.
- Taxation Law Assignment - Bah. Certainly lived up to its reputation as being THE most difficult unit in the entire course. And as if that's not bad enough, the tutor just mentioned in class today that this year's final exam paper is the hardest he has ever seen. -_-
That's basically my week in a nutshell and before I could really sit down and breathe, it'll be time for me to start catching up on the missed lectures and tutorials for the past week or so. . . .
Just realised that I haven't posted any photos from CNY trip to Switzerland on the blog as yet. It'll be a difficult task to select which photos to post as almost every shot is a powershot. Ha. Throughout my trip, there's just one thought in me about Swiss. It's almost unfair (in a good way, of course) that one country be bestowed with such countless stunning sceneries. It actually doesn't do them justice 'cos a lot of people will end up saying, "It's the same everywhere". But it's just breathtaking to say the least. I was however slightly disappointed with Zurich given its reputation as one of the more prominent financial centres in Europe after London and perhaps, Paris. I was really looking forward to seeing the HeadQuarters of banks like UBS.. Credit Suisse.. and of course, KPMG..since I read that it's actually a Swiss Cooperative =) Turns out that Zurich doesn't actually have a Financial/Business district so as to speak and while I did manage to see UBS, the building was largely disappointing. An online search of KMPG in Zurich found that it's not exactly located in the city centre and judging from some of the pictures shown, even Hong Leong looks better. Anyway... . . . . . You be the judge.
