Singapore Day 2008

Singapore Day 2008 right here in Melbourne in 6 days' time. It's hard not to be looking forward to this Mega-event. I first heard of this event coming to Melbourne months ago when the organisers asked us, the Singapore Student bodies for ideas and the people we would like to see. But in no way was i expecting the kind of scale that we'll be seeing. While the guys will be disappointed to know that the likes of Fiona Xie and the 七 公 主 will not be appearing down under, the scale is still staggering:

-Performances by: Phua Chu Kang, Dick Lee and Hardy Mirza
-Authentic hawker food air-flown from Singapore. They really literally flew the stalls here to Melbourne. 0_0 Latest I've heard is that, even the Chilli Crab will be making an appearance here.
-Food stations have been named: Clarke Quay, Newton Circus, Rochestor Park and Dempsey Hill.
-Exhibtions: Tanglin, Buona Vista, City Hall and Marina Bay
-Artiste Performances: Fort Canning

The Singapore Government is really pulling out all stops to bring a taste of Singapore to the 8,000+ people who have already signed up for the event. And on my part, the Singapore Day weekend is event-packed with multiple meet-up and dinner sessions with DPM Wong Kan Seng and the organisers. And i've got an Assignment due the Monday right after Sg Day. Great timing! -_-
